OUR Process
Every New Town saddle is built around a clear, proven process — from the first ride in our demo range to the final adjustment on your custom build. This step-by-step approach ensures accuracy, consistency and a saddle that works in harmony with both horse and rider, supported by our adaptive Saddlethotic System and premium leatherwork.
Book Your Fitting
Your journey starts with an on-site consultation. A trained New Town fitter will bring our full saddle range for you to try directly on your horse. Using innovative technology, we create a live profile of your horse that’s stored in the New Town database, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the custom-build process.
Precision Measurement
Once you’ve chosen the right model, we take detailed measurements using the Horse Shape App. This creates a digital back profile of your horse, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the fitting process. Every fitter follows the same system, meaning no guesswork and no shortcuts.
Build & Craft
Your specifications are sent to our master craftsmen in France, England or Argentina. Using the finest materials and traditional saddle-making techniques, your saddle is built to order — shaped precisely to the live profile captured during your consultation and stored within the New Town database.
Every saddle, including those utilising the Saddlethotic System, is crafted to the individual needs of both horse and rider. Typical production time is 8–12 weeks, depending on the model and level of customisation.
Contour Pads with Saddlethotic inserts are produced within 2–4 weeks.
Delivery
When your saddle arrives in Australia, your New Town fitter returns to check the fit on your horse and confirm that the saddle supports correct balance, alignment and movement. Once both horse and rider are working comfortably together, the process is considered complete.
Your saddle is delivered with full aftercare instructions, FAQs, and a step-by-step guide on how to photograph the saddle on your horse for future reference.
